The Pomeranian is a small, lively, expressive dog with a dense coat and big character. Adorable but vocal, it needs training from the start. Health to watch: teeth, patella, windpipe; and its thick coat needs brushing and summer cooling.

Lively, alert, vocal, full of character in a small package. A very expressive companion.

Common questions

Does it bark a lot?

It tends to be vocal. Early training and occupation cut barking sharply.
