How the Matcher works
- 1Your email first. The Matcher asks for it before starting. The notice under the form says what we do with it, under law 09-08.
- 2Questions about your life, in nine themes. Your plans, your home, how long the animal would be alone, your activity, your monthly and emergency budget, your experience, your household (children, other animals, allergies), your space and hours, your long-term commitment. Some questions only appear when they apply to you.
- 3A fixed calculation, no artificial intelligence. It compares your answers with the needs of nine profiles: fish, small mammals, rabbit, cat, bird, reptile, and the dog at three energy levels. The same answers always give the same result.
- 4An honest answer. The animal that best fits your life, with the reasons, or "no animal for now" when your situation does not yet allow you to welcome one in good conditions.
What the Matcher does not do
- It talks about species, not breeds. For a breed, read its page in the Pettopedia.
- It does not replace meeting the animal: each individual has its own character, and a serious shelter helps you choose.
- It does not judge your personality. The personality test does that.
Frequent questions
Is the Matcher free?
Yes. There is nothing to pay; it only asks for your email before starting.
How long does it take?
About five minutes.
Why can it answer "no animal"?
Because taking in an animal without the time, space or budget it needs makes both the animal and the household suffer. The Matcher says so, and explains what is missing.
How is it different from the personality test?
The test starts from your personality and suggests three animals for your life. The Matcher looks at your daily life in detail (budget, hours, household) and can conclude that no animal fits for now.
